Our education
programmes

We believe every young person has the skills and qualities to build a positive life for themselves.

We help every young person we work with achieve their full potential, regardless of their background or circumstances.

We believe you matter.

Young People

Our programmes are planned to meet YOUR needs

You are at the centre

of everything we do.

You get to share ideas

and have a say in how

your programme is

planned.

How It Works

Your school will have chosen you for this programme because they believe it will benefit you. You will be with Foundation Futures one day a week for one full term. You get to go out of school and do different things, everything we do is outside the classroom.

Questions & Answers

  • How many people are in my group? There are 8 young people in your group

  • Will there be anyone else from my school? There might be others from your school but there will be other schools from Newcastle or North Tyneside in your group.

  • How do I get there? Your parent / carer will get a text the night before telling them when we will come and pick you up from your house. We use a minibus to pick everyone up and take them home at the end of the day. The first pick up is about 9.30am and you will normally be home by 3.30pm.

  • Who will I be working with? You work with the same 2 Foundation Futures staff in each session so we can get to know you and you can get to know us.

  • Do we get breaks? Yes! There is plenty of time for breaks. We have an outdoor area, music room. pool table, playstation, and chill out zone.

  • What happens if I don’t like it?

We always say to give the first two sessions a go and if you really don’t like the programme please talk to Foundation Futures staff and we will discuss you returning to school.

  • Do I need to bring my own lunch or money? No. You always get lunch with us, usually from the cafe in the community centre. If we go out, we take a packed lunch.

  • Can my friend join? Groups are usually pre decided and can’t be changed however this is a conversation you can have with your trusted teacher.

  • Can I move groups? In some cases we may decide to move you to a different group. This would always be discussed with you before any decisions are made.
