Foundation Futures helped me regain confidence in myself after struggling in school. When I left, I didn't get the best grades and I didn't know what to do next. I felt lost and had nothing that I particularly wanted to do. The Foundation Futures staff reassured me that everything was going to be ok and they put a lot of time and effort into helping me understand what I was good at and where my strengths lay.
Together we looked at lots of options and we agreed that I was more suited to a hands on job which was physically challenging but also quite technical to keep my brain working. Scaffolding caught my attention, the staff got to work and found me a work trial so that I could see if I was up to the job. They helped me with my social skills and built up my confidence. As a 16 year old I didn't know what I wanted to do, I was really nervous but they kept on supporting me.
Inglefords decided after the trial that they would take a chance on me and offered me an apprenticeship. Throughout my apprenticeship Foundation Futures kept in touch with me and carried on supporting me, making sure it was going well and helped me overcome any obstacles I came across.
Even through the pandemic and in just 3 years I've learned a trade and qualified. Four years later I have massively progressed my career, I've moved to a new company and my confidence and knowledge have grown. I love my job and even though at times it was hard, it has really worked out well for me. I am dead grateful to the staff at Foundation Futures who helped me get where I am today.
