Strategic Plan
2026 - 2029
Guided by Our Community
Foundation Futures New Path Forward
Back in February, we hosted a community input day, bringing together our young people, adults, and dedicated supporters to help shape what comes next. The feedback from that day directly shaped our brand-new mission, vision, and three-year strategic plan.To match this new chapter, we teamed up with street artist MarkOne87 to co-create a bold rebrand that truly represents the incredible people we support.

OUR MISSION
At Foundation Futures we support and empower people through life’s challenges, by providing meaningful youth, community, and alternative education programmes.
We work together to ensure everyone has a safe space to succeed.
A place where people are always accepted and valued for exactly who they are, no matter what, as they build the confidence to chase their dreams.

OUR VISION
Our vision is a future where everyone is empowered to believe in themselves and has a space where they can always be who they are. A place where people feel seen for their true selves and know they belong.
A place built on real connections, positive opportunities, and the support needed to unlock endless possibilities.
Our new strategic plan focuses on our key 3 areas
Byker, Walker and Alternative education and by 2029 we want to...

BYKER
Empowerment, Connection & Safety
Core Goal: To empower the Byker community to feel more connected, safe, and equipped to face life’s challenges through visible, local support.
Wider Presence
Confidence & Connections
Accessible
Advocacy
Establish a consistent physical presence across the estate Through exploring collaborative ways of working and utilising other spaces with other local professionals and providers to ensure every resident has a local point of connection.
Providing programmes for young people aged 11+ to support them with the skills and connections needed to enter adulthood with confidence.
To provide accessible and understandable support for families. Acting as a voice to work alongside statutory services when needed. Allowing people to be heard, empowered, confident and able to influence the services they rely on.
Diversion &
Peace Building
To provide targeted support for marginalised young men, offering positive opportunities to divert from crime, while working with other organisations to build bridges between Byker and Walker to breakdown generational postcode rivalries and youth violence.

WALKER
Opportunities for Connections
Core Goal: To provide opportunities for the Walker community to feel more connected through accessible spaces and multigenerational activities
Open Doors
Increase community access to space at Pottery Bank Community Centre, by empowering volunteers to lead sessions, ensuring the community stays connected even outside of staff hours.
Confidence &
Creativity
Providing programmes for young people and adults to support them with the skills and confidence needed to improve wellbeing and pride in a creative and active way.
Intergenerational
Projects
To create opportunities reflective of the communities needs, where older and younger residents work together. Creating lasting connections to share knowledge and experiences to build a stronger sense of community.

ALTERNATIVE
EDUCATION
Confidence, Connections &
Life Skills
Core Goal: To build young people’s confidence and equip them with the life skills necessary to succeed in life beyond the classroom.
The Real World
Support
Implement a structured Life Skills programme focusing on personal finance, budgeting, and workplace visits, ensuring every student feels prepared for the outside world. Building connections with professionals and the outside world before they leave education.
Confidence
Through Doing
Overcome barriers by providing practical activities to support young people's confidence in equipping them to try new things outside of their comfort zone. Embedding transferable soft skills to get them through education and ready for life post 16.
Social & Menatl Wellbeing
Providing environments for true connections and safe people to confide in. Developing social skills for young people struggling in mainstream education or with SEND. Tackling stigmas around mental health and developing the emotional language and communication needed to express themselves and be understood.

We have 3 Main Focus Areas
Funding
Programmes
Resources
Build a strong, lasting foundation. Instead of constantly chasing short-term grants, we are focusing on securing long-term, reliable funding. This gives our charity the financial stability it needs to keep our doors open, plan for the future, and stay completely focused on supporting our community year after year.
Continue to put young people and communities in first. Ensuring all of our programmess are shaped and led by the local residents and young people . By working this way, we are breaking down barriers, bringing different neighborhoods together, and making sure our support goes exactly where it’s needed most.
Create a safe space and supportive team. We want to secure a permanent, welcoming "Home", a high-quality space where everyone feels safe, valued, and inspired. Inside that home, we are building a team of staff and volunteers who are genuinely supportive, highly skilled, and recognised across the region as the absolute best at what they do.
We have 3 Overarching Goals
Spae & Growth
Visibility
Enviroment
Secure a permanent, high-quality home where our community always knows they belong. Whether this is one big central building or a cozy network of welcoming hubs right on people's doorsteps, it will be a dedicated, safe space built to last for generations.
Use digital storytelling, videos, and media to bring our unseen work to life. By sharing real stories and programme successes our funders, partners, and the public can truly see the massive impact we are making together.
Ensure everyone we work with feels a deep sense of pride in their local community. By coming together to take action, learning "green" skills, and making sure our own charity runs in an environmentally friendly way, we aren’t just talking about a sustainable future, we are actively building it with our own hands.
