Foundation Futures is an established, trusted partner working closely with North Tyneside and Newcastle schools and Local Authorities. We provide short-to-long-term nurture based provision (typically one day per week for a full term, with flexible extensions) designed to supplement or complement mainstream education.
Our delivery takes place in our informal, youth-led space at the Pottery Bank Community Centre. This environment features a communal kitchen, a low-lit sensory/calm room for emotional self-regulation, a small outdoor space for activities and a focus room for independent or 1-to-1 work.
Our Approach
Our focus is to support each young persons needs through meeting them where they are at. We engage with young people in a fun dynamic and supportive way focusing on their wellbeing to improve emotional literacy, resilience, and readiness for life. We can support young people with diverse SEND and SEMH needs, as well as those who have experienced trauma or struggle with mainstream environments.
Trauma-Informed & Relational Practice: Our entire team applies a trauma-responsive approach rooted in unconditional positive regard. We work in a relational, holistic, and adaptable way to help young people regulate big emotions, reduce anxieties, and
de-escalate challenging behaviours.
Targeted Skill Development: We design bespoke activities that directly support the development of vital social, emotional, and communication skills. We help young people explore their individual communication styles, learn positive self-expression, build self-awareness, and reduce feelings of isolation.
A Full Wrap-Around Framework: We believe that supporting a young person requires looking at the whole picture. Our commitment doesn't just exist on the programme, we actively work alongside families and all external services involved with the young person to ensure a consistent, united support.
Persistent Advocacy: We confidently act as an advocate for the young person and their family when communicating with external services. We are will attend service meetings, strategy meetings, and school wellbeing drop-ins. We place a massive priority on building and restoring positive, professional relationships between families and schools, especially where previous communication or relationships have broken down.

Group or 1-to-1 introductory meetings at the student's school or the young persons home. A site visits before their official start date for young people experiencing stress.
Booking Our Services
We view our relationships with schools and local authorities as deep, long-term partnerships. When you commission a space with Foundation Futures, we don't just provide a placement, we become a dedicated partner actively supporting young people directly within their schools and wider networks.
Our costs are fully inclusive, all staffing, activities, food, transport, resources, and additional meetings are completely covered.
Fully embedded within this cost is our commitment to safeguarding, which we hold to the highest standards. We work alongside Clennell Education Solutions to ensure compliance and learner protection are always our top priority.
Referrals & Spaces
Schools and Local Authorities can book individual places, but spaces fill up very quickly each year. To ensure continuity of care and guaranteed support for your students, we highly recommend reserving your places in advance. Booking your places ahead of time secures your allocated spaces for the full academic year, and most spaces are usually reserved before the new academic year begins in September. However, we know that student needs can change rapidly, so we always try to remain as flexible as possible to accommodate individual referrals year-round subject to availability.
